MK Attends Eurographics 2010
June 10, 2010
| Morgan Kaufmann just got back from a trip that took our Marketing Manager across the Atlantic to exhibit at Eurographics 2010 in Norrköping, Sweden. While our Editors have attended this key Graphics conference in the past, this was the first time (at least in recent history) that we were able to display all of our books! The entire MK team was excited to get back in touch with our European Graphics audience.
With roughly 550 participants at the conference and co-located events (specifically the Visual Forum on Monday), conference attendees seemed very excited to see us there and we hope to attend again in 2011. Morgan Kaufmann recently partnered with Eurographics and the partnership, which offers a discount to Eurographics members, was a motivating factor when we considered our conference schedule for 2010. With several key Graphics titles publishing in 2010, we were most excited to make sure everyone knew about: • Networked Graphics • Light & Skin Interactions • High Dynamic Range Imaging, 2e • Physically Based Rendering, 2e There was a lot of excitement at the conference for the new editions of MK’s best-selling High Dynamic Range Imaging and Physically Based Rendering titles. Other best-sellers included: • The Art and Science of Digital Compositing • Geometric Algebra for Computer Science (Revised Edition) • Digital Modeling of Material Appearance • Point-Based Graphics • Mobile 3D Graphics • Mathematical Optimization in Computer Graphics and Vision • Visual Thinking This was the first Graphics conference for Morgan Kaufmann’s newest Marketing Manager, Andrea Dierna. She had the opportunity to talk to many of MK’s leading Graphics authors including Gladimir Baranoski, Eric Reinhard, Marcus Gross, Kari Pulli, and Julie Dorsey. Andrea’s looking forward to seeing everyone at SIGGRAPH later this year. |
